The 12" square size is ideal for 26" and 38" giant chess sets, as well as 10" MegaChess checkers. It is the perfect choice for customers who want a smaller footprint than the 15-inch commercial board while preserving the premium look and durability. This chessboard performs reliably in extreme climates ranging from desert heat to oceanfront humidity.
The board performs best on hard, flat surfaces such as concrete, decking, patios, or flagstone. It is not recommended for grass when using the safety ramps, as their lightweight design may lift on uneven ground. For grass installation, simply remove the edge ramps and clip the loops on two sides of the board.

Yes. The commercial-grade hard plastic construction is designed for permanent outdoor use and withstands sun, rain, snow, humidity, and temperature extremes. The self-draining design also helps prevent standing water and simplifies maintenance.
CAN THE CHESSBOARD BE INSTALLED ON GRASS?
The board itself can be placed on grass, but the included safety edge ramps are designed for hard, level surfaces. For grass installations, MegaChess recommends removing the ramps and clipping the connection loops on two sides of the board.

The mega chess board was just what we needed to complete a project for a school. We wanted something that would last longer than paint. The squares looked great shipping was pretty fast and I believe we we're able to get a discount on it.
I live in Florida. Nothing survives Florida. The salt in the air destroys almost everything. This mega chess board and all of the chess pieces and checkers have stood up beautifully. I could not be more pleased. It survived Florida... I highly recommend it. Everyone loves it and we play constantly. The pic doesn't do it Justice.
Just like the chess pieces we purchased this shipped quickly. The material is great, it was easy to put together and its holding up nicely. We have had it for about 4 months at this point. I am happy that I spent a little extra money to get this board bc it is the correct size that we needed with the 12in squares and I like the edge pieces. It really finishes off the look and makes it look clean.
