The Country Club First Cut™
Description
The Country Club First Cut™ Golf Mat by Real Feel Golf Mats™ is engineered to replicate the realistic resistance and feedback of first-cut fairway conditions. Designed for serious golfers who demand authentic short-game practice, this 5' x 5' golf hitting mat allows you to chip, pitch, and control trajectory with true down-and-through divot action.
Unlike traditional mats that mask poor contact, the First Cut™ provides immediate natural feedback on strike quality, helping you refine touch, control, and consistency around the green.
Built with Real Feel’s proprietary CCE “Real Feel” turf technology, this mat supports practice from uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies with a built-in 10-degree angle capability. It can also be paired side-by-side with the Country Club Elite™ hitting mat to create a complete training surface. The First Cut model offers a slightly more forgiving feel compared to the Country Club Elite™, making it a strong choice for residential setups and everyday practice.
BEST FOR:
- Home golf practice setups and simulator rooms

FAQ
WHAT MAKES REAL FEEL GOLF MATS DIFFERENT FROM STANDARD DRIVING RANGE MATS?
Real Feel golf mats are designed to simulate real turf interaction. Unlike standard range mats that allow the club to bounce or slide, these mats use a dense fiber system that absorbs impact and provides true feedback on both clean and fat shots.
CAN YOU USE REAL TEES WITH THIS GOLF MAT?
Yes. Real Feel golf mats are specifically engineered to hold real wooden tees at adjustable heights, allowing full driver practice without restriction.
IS THIS GOLF MAT SUITABLE FOR A GOLF SIMULATOR?
Yes. These mats are commonly used in golf simulator setups due to their durability and realistic feel. They perform well in both residential simulators and high-use commercial environments.
WILL THIS MAT HELP PREVENT JOINT PAIN OR INJURY?
Yes. The fiber system is designed to absorb shock at impact, reducing strain on wrists, elbows, and shoulders compared to traditional hard surface mats.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COUNTRY CLUB ELITE AND FIRST CUT GOLF MATS?
The Country Club Elite™ offers a firmer feel with maximum resistance and feedback, making it ideal for professional and high-use environments. The First Cut™ provides a slightly more forgiving feel, which many residential users prefer for everyday practice.
IS THIS MAT GOOD FOR OUTDOOR USE?
Yes. Real Feel golf mats can be used outdoors and are built to withstand typical weather conditions. For longevity, placement in a covered or partially protected area is recommended.
HOW DURABLE ARE REAL FEEL GOLF MATS?
These mats are constructed with heavy denier mono-filament fibers and a reinforced backing system, making them suitable for repeated use in both residential and commercial settings.
DO GOLF PROFESSIONALS USE REAL FEEL GOLF MATS?
Yes. Real Feel golf mats are used by teaching professionals, private clubs, and serious players who require accurate feedback during practice.
CAN THIS MAT BE USED WITH IRONS, WEDGES AND DRIVERS?
Yes. The mat is designed for full practice sessions, including irons, wedges, and drivers, with consistent performance across all club types.
IS THIS MAT BETTER THAN A TRADITIONAL DRIVING RANGE MAT?
For players seeking realistic feedback and the ability to use real tees, Real Feel mats offer a more accurate practice experience compared to standard range mats.
